CORN: An Alternative Way to Utilize Time-Series Data of SAR Images in Newly Built Construction Detection

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2020
The limitations in obtaining sufficient datasets for training deep learning networks is preventing many applications from achieving accurate results, especially when detecting new constructions using time-series satellite imagery, since this requires at ...

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

Promoter studies of chemically induced BCI-genes in the pathosystem barley - powdery mildew

open access: yesPlant Protection Science, 2002
Chemical resistance inducers like BTH (S-methyl benzo (1,2,3)-thiadiazole-7-carbothiate) and DCINA (2,6-dichloro isonicotinic acid) activate resistance in barley against powdery mildew (Blumeria graminis f.sp. hordei). Nine BTH induced genes (Bci, barley

SARS coronavirus

open access: yesUirusu, 2003
SARS is a new type of infectious pneumonia that emerged in China in November 2002. It spread around the world through an outbreak in Hong Kong in March 2003. Patients were reported in 29 countries, and around 800 people died, although a majority of these cases were in Asian countries.

Spaceborne Bi- and Multistatic SAR: Potential and Challenges

open access: yes, 2006
Bi- and multistatic synthetic aperture radar (SAR) operates with distinct transmit and receive antennas that are mounted on separate platforms. Such a spatial separation has several operational advantages, which will increase the capability, reliability ...

Rapid screening of staphylokinase protein variants using an unpurified cell‐free expression system

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An unpurified cell‐free protein synthesis (CFPS) platform enables rapid functional screening of staphylokinase variants. Direct plasminogen‐activation assays performed in microplate format provide real‐time activity readouts, allowing rapid identification and ranking of variants with improved or reduced fibrinolytic activity without protein ...

Exploring the potential of the dynamic hysteresis loops via high field, high frequency and temperature adjustable AC magnetometer for magnetic hyperthermia characterization

open access: yesInternational Journal of Hyperthermia, 2020
Aim The Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) is the key parameter to optimize the effectiveness of magnetic nanoparticles in magnetic hyperthermia. AC magnetometry arises as a powerful technique to quantify the SAR by computing the hysteresis loops' area ...

Time‐restricted feeding prior to Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection reduces tissue CD4+ T cells with limited impact on bacterial clearance

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐restricted feeding (TRF) in mice increased liver fatty acid oxidation and decreased fatty acid biosynthesis. These alterations persisted when TRF was discontinued and the host was infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Pre‐exposure to TRF did not alter tissue (lung and spleen) mycobacterial burden but significantly reduced CD3+ T cells in lungs
