Recent Developments and Applications of Multi-Pass Airborne Interferometric SAR using the E-SAR System [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Airborne SAR systems are traditionally considered to be a suitable testbed for the demonstration of new Earth observation data acquisition techniques and for the development of new applications based on the acquired multi parameter data sets ...

Ambiguity Suppression by Azimuth Phase Coding in Multichannel SAR Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The Azimuth Phase Coding (APC) technique, proposed to suppress range ambiguities in conventional SAR systems, stands out for its low implementation complexity and its effectiveness for point and distributed ambiguities.

From energy provision to protein synthesis: Tunnelling nanotubes as mediators of intercellular metabolic cooperation in cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The cytoskeleton‐mediated transport of mitochondria via tunnelling nanotubes restores respiration, increases ATP production, rescues cells from apoptosis, activates the AKT/mTOR signalling pathway, promotes cell migration and invasiveness, contributes to cancer progression and treatment resistance.

Innate Immune Reprogramming Mediated by Endogenous Retroelement Dysregulation Drives Multiple Sclerosis Progression

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
Epigenetic reprogramming in hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs) and downstream myeloid cells, mediated by H3.3 downregulation and endogenous retroelement (ERE) overexpression, contributes to the progression of multiple sclerosis (MS). ABSTRACT Background Skewed myelopoiesis in the bone marrow has been identified as a key driver of multiple ...

Numerical examinations of simplified spondylodesis models concerning energy absorption in magnetic resonance imaging

open access: yesCurrent Directions in Biomedical Engineering, 2016
Metallic implants in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are a potential safety risk since the energy absorption may increase temperature of the surrounding tissue. The temperature rise is highly dependent on implant size. Numerical examinations can be used

COVID‐19 Vaccination Is Not Associated With the Development of Idiopathic Inflammatory Myositis in US Veterans

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Several case reports have proposed a potential association between COVID‐19 vaccination and the subsequent development of idiopathic inflammatory myositis (IIM). This study examined prior COVID‐19 vaccination in US veterans who developed new‐onset IIM compared to those without new‐onset IIM.
