SARS

open access: yes, 2016
Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) is an acute respiratory tract infectious disease induced by SARS-CoV and mainly transmitted through the short-distance air droplets and close contact. Its main clinical characteristics is abrupt onset of the disease and the initial symptom is fever accompanied with systematic symptoms of headache, soreness and ...

Unlocking Ultra‐Long Cycle Stability of Li Metal Electrode by Separators Modified by Porous Red Phosphorus Nanosheets

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Coating the standard polypropylene separator with a porous red phosphorous nanosheet greatly improves cycling performance in Li electrode cells. The phosphorus‐based surface chemistry deactivates electrolyte solvent decomposition and enhances the cleavage of F‐containing salt, resulting in an inorganic‐dominated electrolyte interphase (SEI) composition

A Visible Light‐Responsive Hydrogel to Study the Effect of Dynamic Tissue Stiffness on Cellular Mechanosensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A visible light‐responsive polyacrylamide‐azobenzene hydrogel enables safe, reversible stiffness control for studying cell mechanobiology without harmful UV exposure. This approach reveals stem cells respond rapidly to mechanical changes, showing altered shape and protein distribution within one hour.

Screening of cytotoxic or cytostatic flavonoids with quantitative Fluorescent Ubiquitination-based Cell Cycle Indicator-based cell cycle assay [PDF]

open access: yesRoyal Society Open Science, 2018
The Fluorescent Ubiquitination-based Cell Cycle Indicator (FUCCI) system can be used not only to study gene expression at a specific cell cycle stage, but also to monitor cell cycle transitions in real time. In this study, we used a single clone of FUCCI-

Tailoring the Microstructure of B‐Cation Octahedra in Halide Double Perovskites for Efficient Selective CO2‐to‐CO Photoreduction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The thermodynamic obstacle of CO2‐to‐CO conversion over metal halide perovskite photocatalysts is addressed by modulating the local electronic structure. A 13‐fold improvement in selective CO2 photoreduction to CO is achieved, with ≈100% selectivity.

Efficient Hole Injection From Indium Tin Oxide in Quantum‐Dot Light‐Emitting Diodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The realization of QLEDs‐based displays remains challenging due to the acidic surface from PEDOT:PSS. Here, an analysis is conducted by examining the degradation mechanism of PEDOT:PSS. By replacing PEDOT:PSS with 2BrCzPA, the formation of strong dipoles at the ITO/2BrCzPA SAM interfaces exhibits excellent hole injection abilities.

Supervariate Gel Transforms into Various Biominerals in Salt Solutions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
It is revealed that common calcium‐based biominerals can form from a stable, non‐toxic ‘supervariate’ gel. This tunable gel selectively yields calcite or hydroxyapatite in carbonate/phosphate solutions, while CaCl₂ facilitates the formation of dihydrate calcium pyrophosphate, which converts to hydroxyapatite upon drying. These findings provide insights
