Ecol EvolHorse mackerel (Trachurus trachurus) populations along the eastern Moroccan Mediterranean coast were studied over 12 months using 390 specimens to assess reproductive ecology. The species showed two spawning periods—late winter to early spring and summer—and exhibited fractional spawning, with males being more predominant.
