Evaluating Scale Efficiency of Ukrainian Banks Using DEA [PDF]

open access: yesProblemi Ekonomiki, 2018
The article there built DEA models with variable return to scale (VRS) and constant return to scale (CRS), which made it possible to determine the change in efficiency with a change in the scale of operations and to assess the scale efficiency of ...

EFFICIENT ROUTING ON SCALE-FREE NETWORKS [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics B, 2007
The nodes with the largest degree are very susceptible to traffic congestion, thus an effective way to improve traffic and control congestion can be redistributing traffic load in hub nodes to others. We proposed an efficient routing strategy, which can remarkably enhance the network throughput. In addition, by using detrended fluctuation analysis, we

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Efficient Large Scale Video Classification

open access: yesCoRR, 2015
Video classification has advanced tremendously over the recent years. A large part of the improvements in video classification had to do with the work done by the image classification community and the use of deep convolutional networks (CNNs) which produce competitive results with hand- crafted motion features. These networks were adapted to use video

Improving Resource Efficiency at Scale with Heracles [PDF]

open access: yesACM Transactions on Computer Systems, 2016
User-facing, latency-sensitive services, such as websearch, underutilize their computing resources during daily periods of low traffic. Reusing those resources for other tasks is rarely done in production services since the contention for shared resources can cause latency spikes that violate the service-level objectives of latency-sensitive tasks. The

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Service performance in public healthcare system: data envelopment analysis

open access: yesAD-minister, 2017
As well as companies that compete in market, in public health system organizations compete to satisfy customer’s need, and therefore identifying those needs and delivering the value is critical in success.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Productive Efficiency of Potato and Melon Growing Farms in Uzbekistan: A Two Stage Double Bootstrap Data Envelopment Analysis

open access: yesAgriculture, 2013
This article is one of the first to carry out a non-parametric efficiency analysis of crop production in Uzbekistan. The study applies the bootstrap Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) to compute bias corrected technical efficiency (TE) scores using a sample
