Study on the Corrosion and Scale Inhibition Mechanism of the Thiourea-Modified Polyepoxysuccinic Acid (CNS-PESA)

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, 2022
In this paper, thiourea-modified polyepoxysuccinic acid (CNS-PESA) was synthesized and used as a corrosion and scale inhibitor for the circulating cooling water system of the factory. Polyepoxysuccinic acid (PESA) has been widely used in industrial water

Health‐Related Quality of Life and Symptom Severity Among Patients With PIK3CA‐Related Overgrowth Spectrum: A Mixed‐Methods Study to Understand Real‐World Experience With Alpelisib Treatment

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background PIK3CA‐related overgrowth spectrum (PROS) includes several rare overgrowth disorders resulting from somatic gain‐of‐function mutations in PIK3CA. Despite treatment advances, including the recent approval of alpelisib for PROS in the United States, literature detailing the patient experience with PROS is limited.

Probing Localised Corrosion Inhibition of AA2024-T3 by Integrating Electrode Array, SVET, SECM, and SEM-EDS Techniques

open access: yesMetals, 2023
This work demonstrates an approach towards the understanding of multi-scale and open-circuit localised electrochemical processes of AA2024-T3 in the presence and absence of an environmentally friendly rare-earth inhibitor; cerium diphenyl phosphate (Ce ...

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Synthesis and characterization of maleic acid and sodium methallyl disulfonate new copolymer: application as a barium sulfate scale inhibitor

open access: yesJournal of Petroleum Exploration and Production Technology, 2018
A water-soluble copolymer of maleic acid (MA) and sodium methallyl disulfonate (SMADS) were synthesized by aqueous solution free radical polymerization and evaluated as scale inhibitor for barium sulfate.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.
