Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Nanosilica modified with polyaspartic acid as an industrial circulating water scale inhibitor
Given the special performance of nanosilica with its small size, large specific surface area and high surface activity, nanosilica containing reactive amino group (denoted as SiO2–NH2) and polysuccinimide were allowed to take part in polymerization ...

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Study on synthesis and properties of environmental protection water treatment agent [PDF]
The copolymers were obtained by a water-based polymerization reaction using maleic anhydride and acrylic acid as the main raw materials. And the scale inhibition performance of the resulting scale inhibitor was investigated by static scale inhibition ...

Optimization and Performance Evaluation of Foam Discharge Agent for Deep Aquatic Condensate Gas Well
The block deep condensate gas reservoir in the basin in the southeast of the South China Sea is a bottom water reservoir and is producing in the late effusion, which faces problems such as scaling, condensate oil–water two-phase flow, and low temperature

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Development and mechanism of scale and corrosion inhibitors for water-cooled heat exchangers
In order to solve the scaling and corrosion problems caused by the long-term operation of circulating cooling water system, a highly efficient composite scale and corrosion inhibitor was developed, containing polyepoxysuccinic acid (PESA), polyaspartic ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Molecular scale insights into interaction mechanisms between organic inhibitor film and copper
A model experimental approach, providing molecular scale insight into the build up mechanisms of a corrosion inhibiting interface, is reported. 2-mercaptobenzimidazole (2-MBI), a widely used organic inhibitor, was deposited from the vapor phase at ultra ...
