Effect of scavenging on predation in a food web
Scavenging can have important consequences for food web dynamics, for example, it may support additional consumer species and affect predation on live prey. Still, few food web models include scavenging.

Cell Model of In-cloud Scavenging of Highly Soluble Gases
We investigate mass transfer during absorption of highly soluble gases such as HNO_{3}, H_{2}O_{2} by stagnant cloud droplets in the presence of inert admixtures. Thermophysical properties of the gases and liquids are assumed to be constant.

Quantifying wet scavenging processes in aircraft observations of nitric acid and cloud condensation nuclei [PDF]
Wet scavenging is an important sink term for many atmospheric constituents. However, production of precipitation in clouds is poorly understood, and pollutant removal through wet scavenging is difficult to separate from removal through dry scavenging ...

India has regulations intended to end the horrible practice of "manual scavenging" or manually cleaning human waste from sewers and dry latrines. Even if these laws exist, problems still arise. Social attitudes, a lack of information, and insufficient enforcement all contribute to the fact that implementation is still a major problem. Manual scavengers

A self‐sustaining solar photoelectrochemical cell (SS‐PEC) is developed to recover uranium from aqueous UO22+ with concurrent organic oxidation and electricity production. The monolithical photoanode directly captures electrons from organic compounds, leading to the oxidation of organic compounds and the decomposition of uranium‐organic complexes ...
