Optimal schedules for annealing algorithms

open access: yesPhysical Review E
Annealing algorithms such as simulated annealing and population annealing are widely used both for sampling the Gibbs distribution and solving optimization problems (i.e. finding ground states). For both statistical mechanics and optimization, additional parameters beyond temperature are often needed such as chemical potentials, external fields or ...

Targeting p38α in cancer: challenges, opportunities, and emerging strategies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
p38α normally regulates cellular stress responses and homeostasis and suppresses malignant transformation. In cancer, however, p38α is co‐opted to drive context‐dependent proliferation and dissemination. p38α also supports key functions in cells of the tumor microenvironment, including fibroblasts, myeloid cells, and T lymphocytes.

An optimal grid scheduling method considering coupling degree of nodes and duality of reciprocal inverse mapping

open access: yesResults in Engineering
The optimal scheduling method of the power grid considering the node coupling degree and the duality of mutual inverse mapping is studied to effectively establish the random dynamic scene of the power grid and improve its optimal scheduling effect ...

Basroparib inhibits YAP‐driven cancers by stabilizing angiomotin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Basroparib, a selective tankyrase inhibitor, suppresses Wnt signaling and attenuates YAP‐driven oncogenic programs by stabilizing angiomotin. It promotes AMOT–YAP complex formation, enforces cytoplasmic YAP sequestration, inhibits YAP/TEAD transcription, and sensitizes YAP‐active cancers, including KRAS‐mutant colorectal cancer, to MEK inhibition.

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

Modeling and Optimization of Cable Production Scheduling by Incorporating an Ant Colony Algorithm

open access: yesMathematics
With the development of small batch and multi-batch service production mode, manual scheduling by hand has been difficult to adapt to the production of a large number of complex orders. This work proposed a cable production scheduling optimization method
