Role of the Locus Coeruleus in Response to Threat in Anxiety Disorders and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder: An Ultra-High-Field 7T Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging Study

open access: yesBiological Psychiatry Global Open Science
Background: By harnessing the enhanced spatial resolution and signal power of high-field 7T magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), we assessed the functional involvement of the locus coeruleus (LC), together with the broader threat circuitry, in anxious ...

Nature‐Inspired Surface Modification Strategy Reverses the Autophagic Flux Impairment of Mitochondrial Transplantation for Attenuating Ischemic Strokes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The functionalized starch modifies the mitochondrial surface and encapsulates resveratrol into the cavity of helices, facilitating a novel mitochondrial transplantation platform (MLSR). Upon internalization in recipient cells, MLSR triggers mitophagy and maintains positive autophagic flux through RIP1/RIP3 pathway inhibition.

Using Drift Diffusion and RL Models to Disentangle Effects of Depression On Decision-Making vs. Learning in the Probabilistic Reward Task

open access: yesComputational Psychiatry
The Probabilistic Reward Task (PRT) is widely used to investigate the impact of Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) on reinforcement learning (RL), and recent studies have used it to provide insight into decision-making mechanisms affected by MDD.

School Stress and Anxiety Among High School Students

open access: yesInternational Journal of Humanities and Applied Social Science
School is often the main source of stress and anxiety for adolescents. While stress can be a normal response to challenges, excessive and prolonged stress may result in fear of failure, feelings of inadequacy, and anxiety, with negative effects on well-being and academic outcomes.

Microglial GPR35 Ameliorates Epileptogenesis and Neuroinflammation via PDGFA Domain 2 Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Activation of microglial G protein–coupled receptor 35 (GPR35) by L‐kynurenic acid (L‐Kyna) initiates a platelet‐derived growth factor A (PDGFA)–dependent phosphoinositide 3‐kinase–protein kinase B (PI3K–AKT) signaling cascade that dampens hippocampal neuroinflammation, thereby restraining epileptogenesis, lowering seizure susceptibility, and ...

Personality and cognitive factors implicated in depression and anxiety in multiple sclerosis: A systematic review and meta-analysis

open access: yesJournal of Affective Disorders Reports
Background: Depression and anxiety are prevalent among persons living with multiple sclerosis (plwMS) and are linked to negative prognostic outcomes. Cognitive theories posit that personality and cognitive factors confer risk for depression and anxiety ...

PVNCRF Neurons Regulate Migraine‐Like Allodynia by Activating CRFR2 on Spinal Trigeminal Caudalis Glutamatergic Neurons

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Paraventricular CRF neurons in the hypothalamus project to glutamatergic neurons of the spinal trigeminal caudal nucleus, enhancing neuronal activation and CRFR2 signaling. This pathway increases CRF release and excitatory drive, promoting central sensitization and migraine‐related behaviors. Targeting the PVN–SP5C circuit provides a potential strategy
