A random walk model for the Schrödinger equation
A random walk model for the spatially discretized time-dependent Schrödinger equation is constructed. The model consists of a class of piecewise deterministic Markov processes.

Accelerating Materials Discovery: A Review of Machine Learning in X‐Ray Absorption Spectroscopy
This review systematically details how machine learning transforms X‐ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) analysis. It covers advanced deep learning architectures for structure‐spectra mapping and inverse tasks, while discussing key challenges like the simulation‐to‐reality gap.

Relativistic Schrödinger equation and probability currents for free particles
In this work, we start from the problem of quantizing the relativistic Hamiltonian of a free massive particle (rest mass different from 0), a problem exceptionally difficult in the standard approaches to quantum mechanics.

ABSTRACT Plants are important sources of bioactive compounds that contribute to nutrition, health maintenance, and disease prevention. In this study, the chemical composition and antioxidant potential of essential oils obtained from Lavandula angustifolia “Sevtopolis” and Lavandula × intermedia cultivated in the Silivri region of Istanbul were ...

Flatland Position-Dependent-Mass: Polar Coordinates, Separability and Exact Solvability
The kinetic energy operator with position-dependent-mass in plane polar coordinates is obtained. The separability of the corresponding Schrödinger equation is discussed. A hypothetical toy model is reported and two exactly solvable examples are studied.

Beating the Standard Quantum Limit With Single‐Photon‐Added Coherent States
The standard quantum limit (SQL) defines how quantum fluctuations of light constrain measurement precision. Here, we show that injecting a single‐photon‐added coherent state and a weak coherent state in the input ports of a Mach–Zehnder interferometer reduces phase uncertainty below the SQL.

The Nonlinear Schrödinger Equation
The nonlinear Schrödinger equation is a prototypical dispersive nonlinear partial differential equation that has been derived in many areas of physics and analyzed mathematically for many years. With this book, we aim to capture different perspectives of

An operator Riccati equation and reflectionless Schrodinger operators
In this paper, we study a connection between the operator Riccati equation $\displaystyle S'(x)=KS(x)+S(x)K-2S(x)KS(x), \quad x\in\mathbb{R}, $ and the set of reflectionless Schr\"odinger operators with operator-valued potentials.

Polarization‐Dependence of Nonlinear Optical Effects in Silicon: The Case of Ultrafast Processing
The dependence of the input polarization for the nonlinear optical propagation in silicon is investigated theoretically and experimentally. The perturbative regime is examined using pump‐probe shadowgraphy and nonlinear transmission, whereas the case of permanent laser‐induced modifications is addressed using a combination of Raman micro‐spectroscopy ...

where ∆ is the Laplace operator and q is a Borel measurable function on D. The function q is called a ”potential”. We restrict potentials q to a suitable class of functions to obtain a reasonable potential theory of this operator.
