Grip and Grasp: Lizard Claw Inspired Robotic Manipulators

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Our study identifies the most effective lizard claw shape for use as an end effector in a bioinspired robotic manipulator. By examining key geometric features and combining them into comparative indices, the Crotaphytus collaris claw is found to be the best fit.

Small Floating Target Detection Method Based on Chaotic Long Short-Term Memory Network

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2021
In order for the detection ability of floating small targets in sea clutter to be improved, on the basis of the complete ensemble empirical mode decomposition (CEEMD) algorithm, the high-frequency parts and low-frequency parts are determined by the ...

Knowledge-aided covariance matrix estimation and adaptive detection in compound-Gaussian noise [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We address the problem of adaptive detection of a signal of interest embedded in colored noise modeled in terms of a compound-Gaussian process. The covariance matrices of the primary and the secondary data share a common structure while having different ...

Hierarchical Channeled Graphitized Nanoarchitecture as a Diagnostic Platform for Maternal Fever Warning

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a hierarchically channeled graphitized nanoarchitecture (HPGC‐Z67) as a novel nano‐diagnostic platform. It enables sensitive and efficient N‐glycan extraction from plasma, significantly reducing processing time and cost. The platform identifies pivotal N‐glycans to accurately differentiate between infectious and non‐infectious ...

Terahertz Channel Modeling, Estimation and Localization in RIS‐Assisted Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces have become a recent intensive research focus. Based on practical applications, channel strategies for RIS‐assisted terahertz wireless communication systems are categorized into three different types: channel modeling, channel estimation, and channel localization.

Continuous Wavelet Transform and Hidden Markov Model Based Target Detection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Standard tracking filters perform target detection process by comparing the sensor output signal with a predefined threshold. However, selecting the detection threshold is of great importance and a wrongly selected threshold causes two major problems ...

Low‐Power Control Of Resistance Switching Transitions in First‐Order Memristors

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Joule losses are a serious concern in modern integrated circuit design. In this regard, minimizing the energy necessary for programming memristors should be handled with care. This manuscript presents an optimal control framework, allowing to derive energy‐efficient programming voltage protocols for resistance switching devices. Following this approach,
