Sea cucumbers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Sea cucumbers are a group of economically important echinoderms with a wide range of distribution in coral to mangrove habitats. Out of 200 species known from Indian seas, 75 are from shallow seas; while only a dozen of them belonging to Holothuridae ...

Estimation of growth parameters for the exploited sea cucumber Holothuria arguinensis from South Portugal [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Understanding how species grow is critical for choosing appropriate fisheries management strategies. Sea cucumbers shrink during periods of aestivation and have naturally flaccid bodies that make measuring growth difficult.

BioCNTs Mediated Delivery of Systemically Mobile Small RNAs via Leaf Spray to Control Both Tomato DNA and RNA Viruses

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A carbon nanotube‐based biopesticide system (BioCNTs) enables efficient delivery and systemic movement of RNAi molecules to control major tomato viruses. By integrating shRNA and tRNA‐like structures (TLS) with BioCNTs, this green and scalable approach achieves long‐term silencing and high antiviral efficacy through simple foliar spraying.

Modeling of the Elements Ca2+, Mg2+ and Si in the Sediments and the Body Walls of Sea Cucumbers in the Tropical Seagrass Meadows

open access: yesDiversity, 2023
The interrelationship of the minerals calcium (Ca2+), magnesium (Mg2+) and silicon (Si) in the sediments and in the body walls of four tropical sea cucumber species was explored by modeling the concentrations of these minerals.

The holothurian resources [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
!>ea-cucumbers or holothurians are the most important group among the echiaoderms since some of the sea cucumbers arc processed and the product is known as beche-de-mer or Trepang for export market.

TRIM56 Aggravates Cerebral Ischemia‐Reperfusion Injury via Inhibiting KLF4‐Activated Ferroptosis Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the E3 ubiquitin ligase TRIM56 exacerbates neuronal ferroptosis and brain damage by mediating K48‐linked ubiquitination and degradation of KLF4, leading to suppression of the xCT/GSH/GPX4 axis. Targeting TRIM56 alleviates cerebral ischemia‐reperfusion injury in vivo and in vitro, highlighting its therapeutic potential.

Allelic Variation in Maize Malate Dehydrogenase 7 Shapes Promoter Methylation and Banded Leaf and Sheath Blight Resistance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study maize chloroplastic malate dehydrogenase7 (ZmMDH7), is identified as a Rhizoctonia solani resistance gene in maize. ZmMDH7 is regulated by transcription factor ZmWRKY44 via pathogens challenge to elevate mitochondrial ROS and SA signaling pathway.
