High glucose triggers corneal endothelial dysfunction by impairing FOXO1‐mediated ITPR1 transcription, leading to disrupted mitochondria‐associated membrane (MAM) integrity and defective ER‐to‐mitochondria Ca2+ transfer. This study develops an innovative viscous DES‐AAV‐Foxo1 delivery system with enhanced transfection efficiency. This non‐invasive gene

Broadening the semiaquatic scene: Quantification of long bone microanatomy across pinnipeds
Abstract Investigations of bone microanatomy are commonly used to explore lifestyle strategies in vertebrates. While distinct microanatomical limb bone features have been established for exclusively aquatic and terrestrial lifestyles, identifying clear patterns for the semiaquatic lifestyle remains more challenging.

Patterns of spinal motion, kinematic spaces and the land‐to‐sea transition in carnivorans
Using 3D reconstructions, we quantify intervertebral joint mobility to investigate how cervical, thoracic, and lumbar vertebral regions evolved distinct kinematic roles in pinnipeds. The findings reveal lineage‐specific adaptations for swimming and highlight the functional significance of vertebral joint flexibility in ecological transitions.

Objective Cardiac involvement is a major cause of morbidity in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Tumor necrosis factor–like weak inducer of apoptosis (TWEAK) is elevated in SLE, but its contribution to lupus‐associated cardiac injury is unclear. We investigated the role of TWEAK/fibroblast growth factor–inducible 14 (Fn14) signaling in SLE‐related ...

The hypoxia adaptation strategy of the big-belly seahorses (Hippocampus abdominalis) with tuft gills
Hypoxia tolerance is a critical trait in fish breeding, however, the mechanisms underlying hypoxia regulation in the tuft gills of seahorses remain unclear.
