Temporal and small‐scale spatial variation in standing stock phenology and reproduction of Australian hijiki analogues informs aquaculture potential

open access: yesPhycological Research, EarlyView.
SUMMARY Exploration of Australian fucoids for aquaculture has been limited, despite their high diversity and endemism. Sargassum fusiforme (hijiki in Japanese) is a highly‐valued seaweed worldwide for human consumption, but concerns about high arsenic concentrations limit importation into countries with strict safe‐food regulations. We investigated the

Empowering Green Energy: ί‐Carrageenan Based Solid Polymer Electrolytes for Zinc Ion Batteries

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 142, Issue 19, May 15, 2025.
ABSTRACT This work investigates the potential of ί‐carrageenan, a natural biopolymer, doped with zinc trifluoromethanesulfonate (Zn(Tf)2) (or zinc triflate), to serve as a solid polymer electrolyte (SPE) films for zinc ion conducting batteries (ZIBs). The solution casting technique is employed to prepare the electrolyte films.
