Sebaceous glands - unusual histological finding in the uterine cervix

open access: yes, 2009
Sebaceous glands have been extremely rare findings in the female genital system. Excluding the vulva and recent findings, very few cases have been described. The origin of the lesions remains a topic of speculation.

Sebaceous lymphadenoma of the parotid gland

open access: yesIndian Journal of Pathology and Microbiology, 2011
Sebaceous lymphadenoma is a rare benign salivary gland tumor of uncertain histogenesis. We report such a case in a 37-year-old female presenting with a parotid swelling. Recognition of key histological features will readily allow differentiation of this neoplasm from its benign and malignant mimics. The prognosis is excellent following excision.

Effects of topically applied antiandrogenic compounds on sebaceous glands of hamster ears and flank organs

open access: yes, 1989
Growth of sebaceous glands in the ears and flank organs of castrated male hamsters is dependent on androgen substitution. Taking this for granted, a study was done to compare the effects of topical antiandrogenic treatment in vivo on the morphology and ...

Icariin Enhances the Enzymatic Activity of N‐acetylgalactosaminidase to Augment Akkermansia Abundance in Gut Microbiota for Improved PD‐1 Blockade Efficacy in Tumor Suppression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Icariin promoted the growth of Akk by enhancing the activity of N‐acetylgalactosaminidase (Amuc_0920), which enhanced mucin utilization and provided a favorable nutrient environment for bacterial growth. This icariin‐mediated enrichment of Akk further reshaped the tumor microenvironment and promoted CD8+ T cell infiltration, ultimately synergizing with

Increased Androgen Binding Capacity in Sebaceous Glands in Scalp of Male-pattern Baldness

open access: yes, 1989
Sebaceous glands were isolated by manual dissection under a microscope from surgical specimens of scalp skin with male pattern baldness and skin specimens of hairy and bald scalp obtained at autopsy. The 800 × g pellet (nuclear fraction) and the 164,000 ×

A Microbial Lipid‐ATP Synthase Axis Fuels NK Cell Antitumor Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study focuses on the mechanism by which gut microbiota‐derived outer membrane vesicles (OMVs) regulate NK cell antitumor activity. B. intestinalis is identified to decrease extra‐intestinal tumor growth via its OMVs enriched in sphingosine (SP).
