A medida que avanza la gestación hacia el parto cae la insulina y sube la STH. Al parto ambas se elevan significativamente. La tiroxina se incrementa con la gestación avanzada y cae en 50% al parto. Los estrógenos placentarios suben durante la gestación avanzada, pero caen al parto.
