Analysis of the optical second harmonic generation from Pt nanowires on the faceted MgO(110) template [PDF]
We have measured optical second harmonic (SH) intensity from Pt nanowires with modified ellipsoidal cross sections on the MgO(110) faceted template. The observed SH intensity patterns as a function of thesample rotation angle φ around the surface normal ...

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Arbitrary orbital angular momentum addition in second harmonic generation
We demonstrate second harmonic generation performed with optical vortices with different topological charges imprinted on orthogonal polarizations. Besides the intuitive charge doubling, we implement arbitrary topological charge addition on the second ...

Enhanced second harmonic generation in microfiber loop resonators
Silica nanowires with high nonlinearities are attractive for a variety of applications such as continuum generation and new light sources. In particular, a growing interest was shown for using these nanowires for second harmonic generation (SHG) and ...

Knowledge‐based atomistic workflows are presented for mechanical and thermodynamic properties. By coupling modular simulations with ontology‐aligned metadata and provenance, Fe case studies on elastic behavior, defects, thermal properties, and Hall–Petch strengthening reveal how FAIR, queryable, and reusable simulation data can be generated. Mechanical

Angular-polarization-engineered interferometric second-harmonic generation microscopy
Conventional second-harmonic generation (SHG) microscopy fundamentally lacks the phase sensitivity, which is essential for characterizing symmetry properties that depend on phase information.

Metasurface-assisted phase-matching-free second harmonic generation in lithium niobate waveguides
Phase matching is a crucial condition for nonlinear optical processes. Here, Wang et al. demonstrate that a gradient metasurface composed of phased array antennas allows phase-matching-free frequency conversion over a pump wavelength range of almost 100 ...

Nonlinear optical characterisation of organic chromophores and aspects of molecular aggregation [PDF]
The work presented in this thesis describes an investigation into the properties and behaviour of a new class of nonlinear optical organic chromophores.

Coarse‐grained (left) and atomistic (right) models of the shape memory polymer ESTANE ETE 75DT3 are shown schematically. The two representations bridge molecular detail and mesoscopic description. Both models capture shape memory behavior, linking segmental mobility and conformational relaxation of anisotropic chains to macroscopic recovery, and ...
