The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

A Model for Accurate Prediction of Discharge Coefficients in Rotating Orifices with Different Wall Inclination Angles

open access: yesAerospace
Accurate prediction of discharge coefficients (Cd) in rotating orifices is essential for the design of aero-engine internal air systems, yet existing correlations usually treat axial and radial orifices separately and do not fully represent intermediate ...

Calculation of Labyrinth Seals in the Secondary Air System of Aircraft Engine [PDF]

open access: yesThe Open Mechanical Engineering Journal, 2014
The labyrinth seals perform the important functions in the aircraft engine systems operation, which aim to reduce the air leakages and the mutual system interference reduction. The calculation of the labyrinth seal characteristics is performed simply by using the analytical relationships or the modern tools of numerical analysis.

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Research and Development of Carbon Dioxide Refrigeration Technology [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2020
With the agreement of the Kigali amendment to the Montreal Protocol, the timetable for the reduction of the mandate and the limitation of 18 controlled substances are being phased in. This has brought great challenges to the transformation, upgrading and

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

Restriction of Air Infiltration by an Air Curtain Optimized with Secondary Jets:A Numerical Investigation

open access: yes, 2022
Infiltration of unconditioned air through access openings and entrance doors with high recurrence can cause detrimental impacts to the energy performance, air quality and thermal comfort of buildings. Air curtains are of strategic importance to attenuate

Some Aerodynamic Aspects of Engine Secondary Air Systems [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Engineering for Gas Turbines and Power, 1989
Internal cooling air systems of turbomachines contain various fluid flow components, i.e., rotating holes, tapping configurations, coverplates, labyrinth seals, etc., for which only the basic aerodynamics are known. Numerical calculations for these elements are carried out and compared with test results showing fair agreement in general.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.
