Dynamic Kinetic Resolution of Hetero biaryl Ketones by Zinc- Catalyzed Asymmetr ic Hydrosil ylation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Adiastereo- and highly enantioselective dynamic kinetic resolution (DKR) of configurationally labile hetero- biaryl ketones is described. The DKR proceeds by zinc- catalyze dhydrosilylation of the carbonyl group ,thus leading to ...

Iron homeostasis disruption and lipid peroxidation in skeletal muscle during short‐term immobilization

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
14‐day casting‐induced immobilization reduced gastrocnemius muscle mass and increased non‐heme iron and ferritin heavy chain levels. Despite iron accumulation, transferrin receptor 1 and iron regulatory protein 2 were paradoxically upregulated. Lipid peroxidation was elevated without compensatory antioxidant responses.

Thioether-catalysed tandem synthesis of furans and cyclic ethers or lactones [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Acyclic conjugated ynenediones tethered to an alcohol or carboxylic acid are converted into furanyl-substituted cyclic ethers or lactones in a single step by treatment with the tetrahydrothiophene.

Cutaneous Melanoma Drives Metabolic Changes in the Aged Bone Marrow Immune Microenvironment

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, increasingly affects older adults. Our study reveals that melanoma induces changes in iron and lipid levels in the bone marrow, impacting immune cell populations and increasing susceptibility to ferroptosis.

Interstitial nitrogen-induced efficiency alcohol oxidation over heterogeneous N–CoMn2O4 catalyst under visible-light

open access: yesGreen Synthesis and Catalysis, 2023
Developing highly efficient and recyclable photocatalysts through harvesting solar light as energy is crucial to oxidation for industrial implementation, especially for simple transition metal oxidic catalysts without precious/heavy/rare metal dopants ...

Highly efficient and reusable CNT supported iron(II) catalyst for microwave assisted alcohol oxidation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The highly efficient eco-friendly synthesis of ketones (yields over 99%) from secondary alcohols is achieved by combination of [FeCl2{eta(3)-HC(pz)(3)}] (pz = pyrazol-1-yl) supported on functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotubes and microwave ...

Prognostic Implications of Sleep Architecture for Patients Admitted to the Intensive Care Unit With Status Epilepticus

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Status epilepticus (SE) is associated with significant mortality. Sleep architecture may reflect normal brain function. Impaired sleep architecture is associated with poorer outcomes in numerous conditions. Here we investigate the association of sleep architecture in continuous EEG (cEEG) with survival in SE.

Apples as enantiospecific bioreagents in the hydrolysis of racemic esters and oxygenation of alcohols obtained during the process

open access: yesActa Societatis Botanicorum Poloniae, 2014
Biotransformation carried out by apples (Malus silvestris) resulted in enantiospecific hydrolysis of racemic acetates, the derivatives of secondary aromatic-aliphatic or terpenic alcohols. The alcohols are oxygenated to ketones (reversible reaction). The

Location‐Specific Hematoma Volume Predicts Early Neurological Deterioration in Supratentorial ICH

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Early neurological deterioration (END) adversely affects outcomes in patients with intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). This study aimed to determine the location‐specific hematoma volumes for END in supratentorial ICH patients. Methods We retrospectively analyzed supratentorial ICH patients presenting from two prospective cohorts.
