Experimental investigations of twin-fluid atomization of cavity wax
Paper AA-18, 8 S.An internal mixing twin-fluid atomizer used for the application of cavity wax in automotive engineering is investigated. At typical pressures of 100 bars the wax material is atomized into a chamber and mixed with air at elevated ...

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Single‐Molecule Reconstruction of Oligonucleotide Secondary Structure by Atomic Force Microscopy [PDF]
Based on soft-touch atomic force microscopy, a method is described to reconstruct the secondary structure of single extended biomolecules, without the need for crystallization. The method is tested by accurately reproducing the dimensions of the B-DNA crystal structure.

Effect of secondary atomization on blood backspatter affected by muzzle gases
Blood backspatter pattern analysis provides important evidence in firearm-related crime scenes. The mechanisms behind particular patterns have attracted significant recent attention in forensic sciences, in general, and in forensic-science-motivated ...

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Limiting Conditions for Droplet Fragmentation of Stabilized Suspension Fuels
The main barrier to the wide use of composite liquid fuels in the energy sector is the significant sedimentation of solid particles during fuel storage and transportation.

Understanding Micro and Atomic Structures of Secondary Phases in Cu‐Doped SnTe
AbstractHighly efficient thermoelectric materials require, including point defects within the host matrix, secondary phases generating positive effects on lowering lattice thermal conductivity (κL). Amongst effective dopants for a functional thermoelectric material, SnTe, Cu doping realizes the ultra‐low κL approaching the SnTe amorphous limit.
