An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Queue stability distributed spectrum access algorithm based on Markov model for cognitive radio network

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2014
The queue stability of the secondary users in cognitive network was considered.A Markov chain model for the state of users in the cognitive network was constructed and a distributed CSMA algorithm was proposed. The secondary users adjust the parameters of

PARK(ing) time–How park deficiency affects the biological clock in a Drosophila model of Parkinson's disease

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Drosophila park mutants serve as a model for Parkinson's disease. We used this strain to investigate the connection between oxidative stress and the circadian clock mechanism. We showed that increased oxidative stress affects the physiology of pacemaker cells, disrupting their daily structural plasticity. Lack of rhythmic signaling from pacemaker cells

Secondary throughput maximization scheme for non-linear energy harvesting cognitive radio networks

open access: yesDianxin kexue, 2023
Aiming at a cognitive radio network (CRN) consisting of a pair of primary users and M pairs of secondary users, the secondary throughput maximization for CRN based on the non-linear energy harvesting model was studied.Specifically, in the case of ...

α‐Synuclein aggregation landscape from phase separation to neurotoxic intermediates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Alpha‐synuclein aggregation in Parkinson's disease involves a complex landscape of transient intermediates, including oligomers, fibrils and liquid–liquid phase separation (LLPS). A view is emerging in which LLPS maturation into solid‐like condensates may contribute to the formation of neurotoxic species.

Analysis of the M/M/N/N Queue with Two Types of Arrival Process: Applications to Future Mobile Radio Systems

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2012
The queueing system considered is essentially a M/M/N/N queue where two types of users compete for the N resources. The users may have different arrival and service rates and are denoted as primary or secondary users.

Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.
