Secretory immunoglobulin-A excretion in cystitis cystica
Urology, 1973Abstract Urinary immunoglobulin quantitation was carried out in 19 female children with cystitis cystica. Immunoglobulin A but not excretion is elevated in these children. Despite the severity and frequency of recurring infections, these children manifest a low incidence of vesicoureteral reflux, abnormalities on intravenous pyelogram, and renal ...

Secretory IgA is the prevailung immunoglobulin on the mucous membranes of different tissues. It is a polymer immunoglobulin and in comparison to the serum IgA the secretory IgA has a additional polypeptide chain, the secretory component. The secretory IgA is synthesized locally in the mucosa.

Progressive Muscle Relaxation and Secretory Immunoglobulin A
Psychological Reports, 200130 healthy students produced saliva samples for Immunoglobulin A assay before and after sessions involving either progressive muscle relaxation ( n = 15) or a control condition ( n = 15). Levels of immunoglobulin A increased significantly in the relaxation group but not in the control group.

Studies on Human Secretory Immunoglobulin A
The Journal of Immunology, 1972Abstract Secretory IgA (S-IgA), in dissociating media, released small portions of secretory component (SC) and light chains but no J chain. After oxidative sulfitolysis, or reduction and alkylation followed by gel filtration in 5 M guanidine-HCl, SC was eluted in the heavy chain fraction, and J chain in the light chain fraction.

Secretory immunoglobulin A in sweat gland tumors
Journal of Cutaneous Pathology, 1989The presence of immunoglobulin A (IgA) and secretory component (SC) was investigated in normal human skin and in cutaneous neoplasms including a variety of sweat gland tumors. Immunohistochemistry in normal sweat glands revealed the occurrence of secretory IgA (sIgA) as indicated by reactivity for IgA and SC in serial sections. The majority of 28 cases

Studies on Human Secretory Immunoglobulin A
The Journal of Immunology, 1974Abstract Fragments produced by cyanogen bromide cleavage of human secretory IgA were fractionated before and after the splitting of disulfide bonds on Sephadex G-200 columns in 5 M guanidine · HCl. By electrophoretic, antigenic, amino acid, and carbohydrate analyses of individual fractions it was revealed that J chain was released as a ...

Degradation of human secretory immunoglobulin A by Blastocystis
Parasitology Research, 2005Microbial immunoglobulin A (IgA) proteases cleave human secretory IgA, promoting the mucosal adhesion of pathogens. To investigate if the enteric protozoan Blastocystis degrades human secretory IgA, cell lysate and conditioned medium from two species were exposed to immunoglobulin A.

Emotional Crying, Depressed Mood, and Secretory Immunoglobulin A
Behavioral Medicine, 1993The relationship between emotional crying and secretory immunoglobulin A (S-IgA) in whole saliva was examined. Previous research had indicated that lower S-IgA was associated with crying. Similar results were found in the present study. Depressed mood was not associated with S-IgA.

BIOLOGIC SIGNIFICANCE OF THE SECRETORY γA IMMUNOGLOBULINS
Pediatrics, 1971The secretory γA globulins have been shown to be the active antiviral neutralizing principle in the respiratory tract. These antibodies are part of the system found in other fluids in contiguity with the exterior, the external secretory system. The presence of these γA associated antibodies has been shown to be correlated with protection particularly ...

[Secretory immunoglobulin A in amniotic fluid].
Zentralblatt fur Gynakologie, 1983Secretory immunoglobulin A (S-IgA) was estimated in amniotic fluid samples by means of the single radial immunodiffusion according to Mancini. A monospecific antiserum against human secretory component was used. 163 amniotic fluid samples from normal pregnancies and risk pregnancies respectively were investigated.
