The Effects of Climate and Anthropogenic Activity on Hydrologic Features in Yanhe River

open access: yesAdvances in Meteorology, 2016
This paper aims to analyze the effects of precipitation and anthropogenic activity on hydrologic features in Yanhe River so as to provide support for regional water management and evaluation of water and soil conservation measures.

Determination of the Relationship and Spatial Variations of Discharge and Suspended Sediment Values in Watersheds of Ardabil Province [PDF]

open access: yesجغرافیا و توسعه, 2020
Understanding the status of discharge and sediment of watersheds area provides an understanding of the hydrological processes. Uniform assuming of discharge and sediment in a watershed leads to the application of unit planning and management for the ...

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Known discharge uncoupled sediment routing

open access: yes, 1982
A known discharge, uncoupled, sediment routing model, KUWASER has been developed. The model sequentially solves the steady flow and sediment continuity equations. This procedure allows for efficient solution of sediment routing problems on large river systems.

CHARACTERISTICS OF SEDIMENT DISCHARGE AND SEDIMENT TRANSPORT ON BARS

open access: yesPROCEEDINGS OF HYDRAULIC ENGINEERING, 2008
Sediment control along river is very important for river management. These days, countermeasures to deal with rotational degradation, e. g. placing sand at the downstream of the dam, have been taken in some rivers in order to restore the continuity of sand interrupted by dam. To indicate significance of artificial sediment supply in river, we need know

Evaluation of the utility of sediment data in NASQAN (National Stream Quality Accounting Network) [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
Monthly suspended sediment discharge measurements, made by the USGS as part of the National Stream Quality Accounting Network (NASQAN), are analysed to assess the adequacy in terms of spatial coverage, temporal sampling frequency, accuracy of ...

Chlor-alkali industrial contamination and riverine transport of mercury: Distribution and partitioning of mercury between water, suspended matter, and bottom sediment of the Thur River, France [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Total dissolved and total particulate Hg mass balances were estimated during one hydrological period (July 2001–June 2002) in the Thur River basin, which is heavily polluted by chlor-alkali industrial activity.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Sediment Dynamics Observed in the Jhoushuei River and Adjacent Coastal Zone in Taiwan Strait [PDF]

open access: yesOceanography, 2011
Taiwan's rugged, mountainous terrain, a result of active tectonics, and its monsoonal climate create conditions that produce the greatest sediment yield compared to all land surfaces on Earth. It is estimated that, on average, Taiwanese rivers discharge ~

Identification of serum protein biomarkers for pre‐cancerous lesions associated with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...
