We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Many rapidly urbanizing desert cities (RUDC) around the globe experience an acute risk of flooding. To reduce this risk, properly engineered flood control structures (FCS) must account for sediment accumulation as well as flood waters.

A Model to Estimate Sediment Yield from Field-Sized Areas: Development of Model [PDF]
A tool for evaluating sediment yield from field-sized areas is needed for planning management practices to control sediment yield. We developed a reasonably simple simulation model which incorporates fundamental principles of erosion, deposition, and ...

Interdisciplinary on-site evaluation of stone bunds to control soil erosion on cropland in Northern Ethiopia [PDF]
Since two decades, stone bunds have been installed in large areas of the Tigray Highlands, Northern Ethiopia, to control soil erosion by water. Field studies were conducted to quantify the effectiveness, efficiency, side effects and acceptance of stone ...

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

AZD9291 has shown promise in targeted cancer therapy but is limited by resistance. In this study, we employed metabolic labeling and LC–MS/MS to profile time‐resolved nascent protein perturbations, allowing dynamic tracking of drug‐responsive proteins. We demonstrated that increased NNMT expression is associated with drug resistance, highlighting NNMT ...

Dry, wet, dense, and dilute granular flows have been previously considered fundamentally different and thus described by distinct, and in many cases incompatible, rheologies.

The sensitivity of landscape evolution models to spatial and temporal rainfall resolution [PDF]
© Author(s) 2016. Climate is one of the main drivers for landscape evolution models (LEMs), yet its representation is often basic with values averaged over long time periods and frequently lumped to the same value for the whole basin. Clearly, this hides

This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

SEDIMENT YIELD AND TRANSPORTATION ANALYSIS
Sediment system in watershed is not only sediment yield but also including sediment transportation along the rivers. In this study, the Geographic Information System (GIS) combined with sediment yield model can be enhancing the evaluation of soil erosion estimation.
