Population structure and genetic diversity characterization of soybean for seed longevity
Seed longevity is an important trait in the context of germplasm conservation and economics of seed production. The identification of populations with high level of genetic variability for seed longevity and associated traits will become a valuable ...

Coagulative granular hydrogels are composed of packed thrombin‐functionalized microgels that catalyze the conversion of fibrinogen into a secondary fibrin network, filling the interstitial voids. This bio‐inspired approach stabilizes the biomaterial to match the robustness of bulk hydrogels without compromising injectability, mimicking the initial ...

Variation in pinto seed coat darkening [PDF]
Non-Peer ReviewedDarkening of the seed coat is a significant economic problem in pinto bean production. Beans that have darkened are considered old, more difficult to cook, and prices are discounted.

Radiation‐induced hypothyroidism follows head and neck radiotherapy due to oxidative stress and inflammation. Electrospun polycaprolactone scaffolds containing adenosine have potential to modulate thyroid repair. Scaffolds enhance thyrocyte proliferation, antioxidant enzymes glutathione peroxidase and catalase, reduce senescence and apoptosis markers ...

The incorporation of nondigested ECM and synthetic polymers into a co‐electrospinning system enables the decoupling of bioactivity and mechanical properties within a single wrap. This technique is used to develop a multifunctional bone wrap that achieves augmented membrane durability, sustained infection control, and enhanced vascularity for use in ...

Repression of seed coat pigmentation in Ethiopian mustard
The inheritance of seed colour in Brassica carinata A. Braun was investigated in backcross and F2 generations derived from two crosses between the brown seeded cultivar S-67 and two, true breeding, yellow seeded lines, PGRC/E 21164 and PGRC/E 21224 of ...

Chamber‐specific decellularized extracellular matrices (ECMs) were developed, preserving native proteomic profiles of ventricular and atrial myocardium. These innate biochemical cues differentially modulate cardiomyocyte subtypes to drive engineered heart tissue development and function, highlighting the importance of incorporating regional ECM cues in

Our coaxial electrospinning system is capable of incorporating decellularized myocardial extracellular matrix in a core‐sheath configuration, creating nanofibrous scaffolds. These scaffolds, in turn, support the maintenance of functional cardiomyocytes adhered to the surface of these bioactive scaffolds.
