Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Successful pollinator seed mixes include low grass density and high forb richness across a range of total seeding densities

open access: yesRestoration Ecology
Pollinator habitat restorations and enhancements are an important approach to mitigate pollinator declines due to habitat loss and other stressors. Foraging resources can be provided by wildflower plantings grown from seed mixes composed of pollinator‐friendly plant species.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

A study of herbage and seed production of lucerne (Medicago sativa L.) under different plant spacing and cutting treatments : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Agricultural Science at Massey University [PDF]

open access: yes, 1978
The present study on lucerne cv. "Wairau" was carried out in two separate trials, - a herbage and seed production trial and a seed development trial. The purpose of the first part was to investigate the effect of cutting and spacing on herbage production

Crucial parameters for precise copy number variation detection in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded solid cancer samples

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

Winged Seed Aerodynamics and Atmospheric Density: Preliminary Results

open access: yesInternational Scholastic Journal of Science, 2023
The relationship between atmospheric density and the aerodynamic behavior of two types of winged seeds, Hopea odorata and Dipterocarpus alatus, have been examined. The seeds were released in atmospheres of air, CO2 , and He and video recorded at 250 fps for analysis.

Improvement of Germinated Seed Quality by Density Separation

open access: yesJournal of the American Society for Horticultural Science, 1985
Abstract Germinated seeds of ‘King Cole’ cabbage ( Brassica oleracea L. ‘Capitata’ ) were separated on a float-sink basis from nongerminated seeds by density differences.

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.
