Mineral contents of seed and seed oils of Capparis species growing wild in Turkey

Environmental Monitoring and Assessment, 2013
The mineral contents of seed and seed oils of Capparis species growing wild in Turkey were established by inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry. Capparis spinosa var. spinosa (2010) and Capparis ovata var. canescens variety (2009) were determined to be rich in terms of mineral matter as 19,514.60 and 16,995.92 ppm as a total ...

Elevation of soybean seed oil content through selection for seed coat shininess

Nature Plants, 2018
Many leguminous species have adapted their seed coat with a layer of powdery bloom that contains hazardous allergens and makes the seeds less visible, offering duel protection against potential predators 1 . Nevertheless, a shiny seed surface without bloom is desirable for human consumption and health, and is targeted for selection under domestication.

Seed‐oil content of glanded and glandless cottons

Journal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, 1987
AbstractTwelve cotton strains, six glanded and six glandless, with different seed‐oil contents, were mated in a full diallel system. All genotypes were evaluated for seed‐oil percentage (SO), seed index (SI, mg/seed) and seed‐oil index (SOI, mg/seed) to obtain information on the inheritance of these traits and to assess the significance of maternal and

Oil content in seeds by NMR relaxation method

International Congress of Geneticists and Breeders of the Republic of Moldova
The aim of our work was to evaluate the capability of NMR-relaxation method of the determination of oil content in walnut kernels and soybean seeds. NMR-relaxation spin-echoes for protons of the studied seeds were studied on a modernized NMR-relaxometer, using a sequence of 90°- and 180°- high-frequency pulses, with an interval 3.5 ms.
