MONITORING OF VIRAL INFECTION IN SWEET PEPPER PLANTS GROWN IN GREENHOUSE AND OPEN FIELD IN DIFFERENT CLIMATIC ZONES

open access: yesОвощи России, 2017
35 viruses have been reported to infect peppers (Capsicum spp.) and those lead to economic losses like low  and  variable yield. Viral diseases are an important factor  provoking  low  yield and reduced  fruit  quality.

Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have

Selenium accumulation in leaves of perennial onions

open access: yesОвощи России, 2009
It was determined that Selenium concentration in leaves of perennial onion was in the range of 161 to 201 mg/kg of dry matter. The highest concentration of Selenium was in leaves of Common Chives, and Siberian Chives.

A seed dresser's perspective of seed production

open access: yesProceedings of the New Zealand Grassland Association, 1990
The objective is to optimise financial return to the seed grower by saving the maximum amount of seed at the highest possible quality standards. It is possible to always achieve the highest grades by dressing* a line very hard and discarding a large proportion of the sample, with a loss of potential value to the grower.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

DISEASE RESISTANCE OF WHITE HEAD CABBAGE VARIETIES AS A FACTOR OF REDUCTION OF THE PEST RISKS IN VEGETABLE GROWING

open access: yesОвощи России, 2015
The resistance of the released varieties of white head cabbage to pests and diseases in the Moscow region (2006 2012 years) has been studied. The diseases and pests as well as their extension and degree of infestation of cabbage plants were recorded.

Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

Activation of MAP kinases by green leaf volatiles in grasses

open access: yesBMC Research Notes, 2018
Objective Previously we have shown that mechanical wounding and volatiles released from cut grass, activated a 46 and 44 kDa mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) in the model grass species Lolium temulentum (Lt). MAPKs play an important role as signal

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.
