Emerging role of ARHGAP29 in melanoma cell phenotype switching

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study gives first insights into the role of ARHGAP29 in malignant melanoma. ARHGAP29 was revealed to be connected to tumor cell plasticity, promoting a mesenchymal‐like, invasive phenotype and driving tumor progression. Further, it modulates cell spreading by influencing RhoA/ROCK signaling and affects SMAD2 activity. Rho GTPase‐activating protein

Effect of seed size on soil cover, yield, yield components and nitrogen uptake of two-row malting barley

open access: yesDie Bodenkultur, 2019
Seed size can influence germination, growth and yield formation of crops. A two-year field experiment was conducted in eastern Austria in 2012 and 2013 with two cultivars (Paula and Tatum) and four seeds size (< 2.5, 2.5–2.75, 2.75–3.25 and > 3.25 mm) to

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

Effect of Micronutrients Application and Spraying Yeast Extract on Yield and Yield Components of Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)

open access: yesMaǧallaẗ al-baṣraẗ al-ʻulūm al-zirāʻiyyaẗ, 2019
A field experiment was conducted during winter season of 2018-2019, at Al-Qurna district (75 km north of Basrah city centre). The aim of experiment was studding the effect of five levels of micronutrients (MN), Fe, Zn, Mn, Cu, B, and Mo: 0, 2 and 4 kg ...

Effects of duration of water stress at different growth stages on growth and yield of soybeans (Glycine max (L) Merrill) : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Agriculture in Plant Science at Massey University [PDF]

open access: yes, 1982
Four soybean cultivars (viz. Evans, Geiso, Maple Arrow and S.J.4) were subjected to water stress at three different reproductive growth stages: i)entire reproductive growth stages (R1 to R7) ii) early reproductive growth stages (R1 to R4) and iii) late ...

Effect of seed priming on yield and yield components of soybean

open access: yesINTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF PLANT SCIENCES, 2017
The results exhibited that seeds primed with CaCl 2 @ 1% (T 3 ) and GA 3 @ 500ppm (T 4 ) recorded significantly higher germination percentage i.e. 84.67 per cent and 83.33 per cent, respectively over the untreated control T 1 (76.00%). Treatment T 3 recorded higher number of initial plant stand (117 plants), followed by treatment T 4 (111 plants ...

PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells enhances bortezomib sensitivity in multiple myeloma cells by altering their metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigated how PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) indirectly affects multiple myeloma (MM) cell metabolism and viability. Culturing MM cells in conditioned medium from PYCR1‐silenced BMSCs impaired oxidative phosphorylation and increased sensitivity to bortezomib.
