Seizure Cycles under Pharmacotherapy.

open access: yes
OBJECTIVE This study was undertaken to determine the effects of antiseizure medications (ASMs) on multidien (multiday) cycles of interictal epileptiform activity (IEA) and seizures and evaluate their potential clinical significance.

Seizure control after surgical resection of insular glioma

open access: yes, 2021
Insular gliomas most commonly present with drug-resistant seizures, irrespective of the tumour grade. Even though surgery is the mainstay of treatment, complex anatomical location and close proximity to eloquent cortex makes surgical resection difficult.

PAROXYSMAL BRAIN: PERIODS OF EPILEPTIZATION, SEIZURES CONTROL AND MORBID PROCESS COMPENSATION

open access: yesЭпилепсия и пароксизмальные состояния, 2016
Scientific representation on paroxysmal brain and stages of the brain epileptisation on regional population of epileptic patients (more than 6000 cases) and clinical material consisting of 341 patients whom had been observed not less than 6 years has ...

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...

Prediction of postoperative seizure control by hippocampal event-related potentials

open access: yes, 1999
Purpose: In spite of unequivocal results of the pre-surgical evaluation, between 10 and 30% of patients with medial temporal lobe epilepsy (MTLE) do not become seizure free by temporal lobe surgery. Because event-related potentials (ERPs) recorded within

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Neurodevelopmental comorbidities and seizure control 24 months after a first unprovoked seizure in children

open access: yes, 2018
Purpose: To follow children with newly diagnosed unprovoked seizures to determine (1) whether the prevalence of neurodevelopmental comorbidities and cerebral palsy (CP) changed after the initial seizure, and (2) the association between studied ...

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Pre-stroke seizures: A nationwide register-based investigation

open access: yes, 2017
Purpose: The relationship between cerebroyascular disease and seizures is clearly illustrated by poststroke epilepsy. Seizures can also be the first manifestation of cerebrovascular disease and case control studies have demonstrated that seizures carry ...
