Selected physical and chemical properties of soil under different agricultural land-use types in Ile-Ife, Nigeria

open access: yesHeliyon, 2020
This study examined changes in soil properties under different types of agricultural land-use. This was done with a view to extending knowledge on the nature of soil properties under long-term land-use practices.

The physical properties of Lyalpha emitting galaxies: not just primeval galaxies?

open access: yes, 2008
We have analyzed a sample of LBGs from z =3.5 to z=6 selected from the GOODS-S field as B,V and i-dropouts, and with spectroscopic observations showing that they have the Lyalpha line in emission.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Physical properties of selected rock materials

open access: yes, 2020
This paper is presenting the test results of certain physical properties of rocks excavated from four quarries in Serbia. Rocks, from which the building stone is prepared, consist of various minerals, namely of physically and chemically homogeneous aggregates. The rock aggregates are used for building the driveway constructions layers on roads, streets,

Discovery of two broad absorption line quasars at redshift about 4.75 using the Lijiang 2.4m telescope

open access: yes, 2015
The ultraviolet broad absorption lines have been seen in the spectra of quasars at high redshift, and are generally considered to be caused by outflows with velocities from thousands kilometers per second to one tenth of the speed of light.

Flowfield-dependent variant method for moving-boundary problems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
A novel numerical scheme using the combination of flowfield-dependent variation method and arbitrary Lagrangian–Eulerian method is developed. This method is a mixed explicit–implicit numerical scheme, and its implicitness is dependent on the physical ...

Digital twins to accelerate target identification and drug development for immune‐mediated disorders

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Digital twins integrate patient‐derived molecular and clinical data into personalised computational models that simulate disease mechanisms. They enable rapid identification and validation of therapeutic targets, prediction of drug responses, and prioritisation of candidate interventions.

A Review of the State of the Art on Ionic Liquids and Their Physical Properties During Heat Transfer

open access: yesEnergies
This paper presents information on ionic liquids (ILs) and explores their potential applications in heat exchange systems. Basic information on ionic liquids and their selected thermophysical properties is presented in a manner that facilitates their use
