Aggregation emission properties and self-assembly of conjugated oligocarbazoles

Conjugated oligocarbazoles with a 9,10-divinylanthracene core have been synthesized, and exhibit the transition from aggregation-induced emission (AIE) to aggregation-induced emission enhancement (AIEE) behaviour with extending conjugation length; self-assembly of the Cz4 molecule affords nanorings with high fluorescent efficiency.

The influence of the kinetics of self-assembly on the properties of dipeptide hydrogels

We discuss the effect of the kinetics of pH change on the mechanical properties of dipeptide hydrogels. Data from other peptide-based low molecular weight gelator (LMWG) systems suggest that the rheological properties are often highly dependent on the assembly rate. To examine kinetics here, we have used the hydrolysis of glucono-8-lactone (GdL).

AbstractWe report three crystal structures of a synthetic 5‐fluoroalkylporphyrin molecule that was programmed for self‐assembly. All the X‐ray structures of zincated and free‐base porphyrins Zn2 b, Zn5 a, and 2 b revealed rigorous π–π stacking and extremely hydrophobic interactions.
