Self-learning active noise control
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2008An important step for active noise control (ANC) systems to be practical is to develop model independent ANC (MIANC) systems that tolerate parameter variations in sound fields. Reliabilities and stabilities of many MIANC systems depend on results of online system identifications.

Self-learning physical reservoir computer
Physical Review EA self-learning physical reservoir computer is demonstrated using an adaptive oscillator. Whereas physical reservoir computing repurposes the dynamics of a physical system for computation through machine learning, adaptive oscillators can innately learn and store information in plastic dynamic states.

Performance of disk I/O schedulers is affected by many factors, such as workloads, file systems, and disk systems. Disk scheduling performance can be improved by tuning scheduler parameters, such as the length of read timers. Scheduler performance tuning is mostly done manually.

Self-learning continuous controllers
2010 11th International Conference on Control Automation Robotics & Vision, 2010In this paper different approach of adaptation mechanism for fuzzy model reference learning control (FMRLC) method will be introduced. In contrast to original method the proposed procedure guarantees continuity of the fuzzy controller that in reward results in its smooth input-output behaviour (mapping) that eliminates undesirable abrupt changes in the

Self-learning fuzzy controller
Proceedings of the 1992 International Conference on Industrial Electronics, Control, Instrumentation, and Automation, 2003A novel design for a fuzzy controller with a self-learning function is proposed. It is very difficult to determine the optimal condition of a fuzzy controller, since the control performance of the controller depends on both the membership functions and the control rules.

Environments for Self-Learning
2017In this chapter, the author contributes to the definition of somatic pedagogy as a means to encourage self-learning in students in different learning environments, from somatic movement lessons to dance technique and online dance appreciation, by drawing on the pedagogical philosophies of Howard Gardner and Paulo Freire.

Self-learning neural networks in electrocardiography
Journal of Electrocardiology, 1990The study described in this paper evaluated new tools for facilitating the development of criteria for ECG interpretation. Computer interpretation of the electrocardiogram (ECG) requires that numerous criteria related to diagnostic statements be defined. In the past, statistical techniques have been applied to derive and evaluate new criteria.

An expert self-learning fuzzy controller
Annual Review in Automatic Programming, 1989Abstract This paper is about an Expert Self-Learning Fuzzy Controller (ESLFC) in which the control policy can improve automatically by use of Fuzzy sets, expert system and pattern recognization techniques of Artificial Intellegence (AI). It can apply to real-time control of complex systems with nonlinearity, time-variant and uncertainty. Based on the

Building effective management also depends, to a great extent, on self-learning by managers. There are various ways to develop one’s competence. One of the most effective ways of self-development, however, is a relatively neglected one in modern western management development literature. It is the use of introspection as a tool for self-development.
