Sunnah fasting and self regulation among college students [PDF]

open access: yesSHS Web of Conferences
This study aims to determine the correlation of the habit of sunnah fasting (Mondays and Thursdays fasting) and self-regulation among student. Self-regulation is an individual's ability to manage thoughts, emotions, and behavior to achieve goals, which ...

Attention, Self-Regulation, and Consciousness

open access: yesPhilosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London. Series B: Biological Sciences, 1998
Consciousness has many aspects. These include awareness of the world, feelings of control over one's behaviour and mental state (volition), and the notion of a continuing self. Focal (executive) attention is used to control details of our awareness and is thus closely related to volition.

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Targeted mindfulness and self-compassion improve long-term stress reduction in distance learning students: a randomized trial

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology
IntroductionStress remains a critical barrier to psychological wellbeing and academic functioning among university students, particularly in cognitively demanding distance learning contexts. These students often experience role conflict, social isolation,

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

REGULATION AND SELF-REGULATION OF INSURANCE ACTIVITY

open access: yesСтратегические решения и риск-менеджмент, 2015
The article examines other countries’ experience in developing methods and types of regulating insurance activity. Aims, tasks and mechanisms of self-regulation in this field are rationalized. Negative aspects of self-regulation are revealed.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.
