Decoding the Formation of New Semantics: MVPA Investigation of Rapid Neocortical Plasticity during Associative Encoding through Fast Mapping

open access: yesNeural Plasticity, 2015
Neocortical structures typically only support slow acquisition of declarative memory; however, learning through fast mapping may facilitate rapid learning-induced cortical plasticity and hippocampal-independent integration of novel associations into ...

DA-RNN: Semantic Mapping with Data Associated Recurrent Neural Networks

open access: yes, 2017
3D scene understanding is important for robots to interact with the 3D world in a meaningful way. Most previous works on 3D scene understanding focus on recognizing geometrical or semantic properties of the scene independently. In this work, we introduce

Context, categories and modality: Challenges for the Rumelhart model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Three issues are raised in this commentary. First, the mapping of semantic information into the different layers could be done in a more realistic way by using the Context layer to represent situational contexts.

LVID-SLAM: A Lightweight Visual-Inertial SLAM for Dynamic Scenes Based on Semantic Information

open access: yesSensors
Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) remains challenging in dynamic environments. Recent approaches combining deep learning with algorithms for dynamic scenes comprise two types: faster, less accurate object detection-based methods and highly ...

Mapping the Structure of Semantic Memory [PDF]

open access: yesCognitive Science, 2012
AbstractAggregating snippets from the semantic memories of many individuals may not yield a good map of an individual’s semantic memory. The authors analyze the structure of semantic networks that they sampled from individuals through a new snowball sampling paradigm during approximately 6 weeks of 1‐hr daily sessions.

Multi-Objective Location and Mapping Based on Deep Learning and Visual Slam

open access: yesSensors, 2022
Simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) technology can be used to locate and build maps in unknown environments, but the constructed maps often suffer from poor readability and interactivity, and the primary and secondary information in the map ...

Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) in a Patient With Compound Heterozygous OPA1 Variants: Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) is a rare, life‐threatening neurological emergency with unclear etiology in many cases. Mitochondrial dysfunction, often due to disease‐causing genetic variants, is increasingly recognized as a cause, with each gene producing distinct pathophysiological mechanisms.

Adult‐Onset Subacute Sclerosing Panencephalitis Presenting With Subacute Cognitive Deficits

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We describe the case of a 41‐year‐old man diagnosed with adult‐onset subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE). The patient presented with subacute progressive cognitive deficits and a neuropsychological profile indicating predominant frontoparietal dysfunction. MRI showed only mild parietal‐predominant cerebral atrophy.

Coordination et sens relationnel : formes schématiques, paramètres et instructions de cible

open access: yesCorela, 2012
English coordinators AND and OR can be considered as cases of linguistic polyvalence (constructing symmetrical or a-symmetrical relations) and polysemy (mapping a number of semantic notions such as escalation, temporal sequence, consequence, condition ...
