A New Approach to Estimating the Sensible Heat Flux in Bare Soils
The estimation of sensible heat flux (H) in drylands is important because it constitutes a significant portion of the net available surface energy. A model to estimate H half-hourly measurements for bare soils was derived by combining the surface renewal (SR) theory and the Monin–Obukhov similarity theory (MOST), involving the land surface temperature (

The Counter-Gradient Flux of Sensible Heat in the Lower Stratosphere [PDF]
Several recent investigations, KUO (1951), VAN MEIGHEM (1953), STARR (1953) and ARAKAWA (1953), have been concerned with examining the physical processes which account for the maintenance of the kinetic energy of zonal motion in the atmosphere. These studies have pointed up the important role played by the large scale horizontal eddies.

Estimating Sensible Heat Flux from the Oklahoma Mesonet
Abstract The challenges of using the Oklahoma Mesonet for calculations of sensible heat flux are discussed. The mesonet is an integrated network of 115 remote and automated meteorological stations across Oklahoma that provides the spatial density to observe synoptic and mesoscale features.

RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.

Study on Surface Heat Budget of Various Pavements for Urban Heat Island Mitigation
The surface heat budgets of various pavement surfaces are studied with the aim of mitigating the urban heat island effect. In this study, the thermal characteristics of pavements are examined using data from observations.

The Meridional Flux of Sensible Heat over the Northern Hemisphere [PDF]
The meridional eddy flux of sensible heat is examined by means of finite difference integration methods from northern hemisphere charts for the winter 1945–46. The eddy sensible heat flux is shown to occur principally in the lowest layers of the atmosphere and to decrease with elevation.

Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created
