Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Novel golf prosthesis for bilateral upper limb loss: design, fabrication, and biomechanical evaluation

open access: yesFrontiers in Sports and Active Living
IntroductionIndividuals with bilateral upper limb loss face substantial barriers to independence and recreational participation. Adaptive sports can enhance psychological and physical well-being, yet few prosthetic devices are specifically designed or ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

M1-like macrophage contributes to chondrogenesis in vitro

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
Cartilage tissues have poor self-repairing abilities. Regenerative medicine can be applied to recover cartilage tissue damage in the oral and maxillofacial regions.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Baricitinib ameliorates inflammatory and neuropathic pain in collagen antibody-induced arthritis mice by modulating the IL-6/JAK/STAT3 pathway and CSF-1 expression in dorsal root ganglion neurons

open access: yesArthritis Research & Therapy
Background Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors, such as baricitinib, are widely used to treat rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Clinical studies show that baricitinib is more effective at reducing pain than other similar drugs.

Spatiotemporal Analysis of Osteoblast Morphology and Wnt Signal‐Induced Osteoblast Reactivation during Bone Modeling in Vitro

open access: yesJBMR Plus, 2022
Bone nodule formation by differentiating osteoblasts is considered an in vitro model that mimics bone modeling. However, the details of osteoblast behavior and matrix production during bone nodule formation are poorly understood.

Navite: A Neural Network System For Sensory-Based Robot Navigation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
A neural network system, NAVITE, for incremental trajectory generation and obstacle avoidance is presented. Unlike other approaches, the system is effective in unstructured environments.

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Symptoms of central sensitization and comorbidity for juvenile fibromyalgia in childhood migraine: an observational study in a tertiary headache center

open access: yesThe Journal of Headache and Pain, 2017
Background Central sensitization is an important epiphenomenon of the adult migraine, clinically expressed by allodynia, pericranial tenderness and comorbidity for fibromyalgia in a relevant number of patients.
