Hydrogen‐based direct reduced iron (H‐DRI) melts differently from scrap and carbon‐bearing DRI. This work combines differential scanning calorimetry experiments, FactSage thermodynamics, and simple composition‐based regression to predict solidus, liquidus, heat capacity, and enthalpy for H‐DRI.

The low magnetic shear in the Wendelstein 7-X (W7-X) stellarator makes it feasible to shape the separatrix by the large islands constituting an island-divertor, and this can be exploited to access various magnetic configurations, including samples of ...

Turbulence and Transport During Guide-Field Reconnection at the Magnetopause
We analyze the development and influence of turbulence in three-dimensional particle-in-cell simulations of guide-field magnetic reconnection at the magnetopause with parameters based on observations of an electron diffusion region by the Magnetospheric ...

Impact of the plasma boundary on machine operation and the risk mitigation strategy on JET
This work examines the separatrix and Scrape-off-Layer (SOL) characteristics in three scenarios on JET: the Quasi-Continuous Exhaust (QCE) regime, the ITER Baseline scenario, and the X-point Radiator (XPR) regime.

Preliminary analysis of the efficiency of non-standard divertor configurations in DEMO
The standard Single Null (SN) divertor is currently expected to be installed in DEMO. However, a number of alternative configurations are being evaluated in parallel as backup solutions, in case the standard divertor does not extrapolate successfully ...

Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Parasites can alter host traits, thereby reshaping host interactions and modifying density‐ and trait‐mediated effects in trophic cascades. But despite increasing research in parasite ecology, the cascading effects of parasitism from individual hosts to population and ...

Numerous efforts have been made at Tri-Alpha Energy (TAE) to theoretically explore the physics of microwave electron heating in field-reversed configuration (FRC) plasmas. For the fixed 2D profiles of plasma density and temperature for both electrons and

Short Abstract Acknowledging the limits of participatory action research, this paper explores how to include participants in the asylum process despite facing practical and ethical challenges. Concretely, the paper argues for research to align with participating organisations' knowledge, methods and resources.
