From platelets to particles: Optimizing extracellular vesicle isolation in a National Blood Centre

open access: yesVox Sanguinis, EarlyView.
Abstract Background and Objectives Platelet‐derived extracellular vesicles (PEVs) are submicron, membrane‐bound particles released upon platelet activation, with a recognized role in haemostasis, inflammation and immunoregulation. PEVs remain insufficiently characterized in blood products.

Characterizing Spatiotemporal Expansion of Pseudomonas aeruginosa Communities in Polymer and Mucin Gel Environments

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, Volume 123, Issue 2, Page 420-435, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Opportunistic colonization and recurring infection by Pseudomonas aeruginosa are substantial risks to lung functionality for people with underlying respiratory diseases such as cystic fibrosis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The complex metabolic and phenotypic adaptations P.

Genetic Encoding of a Trifunctional Photo‐Cross‐Linker with a Cleavable Alkyl Ester Moiety

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 27, Issue 3, February 2026.
A novel noncanonical amino acid, DiZAAsu, possessing photo‐cross‐linking, biotinylation, and alkaline‐cleavable functionalities, is genetically encoded by an engineered pyrrolyl‐tRNA synthetase mutant. The alkyl ester moiety expands the design space of cleavable photo‐cross‐linkable amino acids.

Tetravalent antibodies are more potent and efficacious erythropoiesis‐stimulating agents than erythropoietin in vivo

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 35, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract Recent studies have shown that tetravalent antibodies are potent and efficacious agonists of the erythropoietin (EPO) receptor (EPOR) both in vitro and in vivo. To identify antibody‐based erythropoiesis‐stimulating agents (ESAs) with therapeutic potential, we evaluated various tetravalent antibody formats for EPOR agonism and key biophysical ...
