On the Error Linear Complexity of Some Generalized Cyclotomic Sequences of Order Two of Period pq

open access: yesIEEE Access
Linear complexity is an important pseudo-random measure of the keystream sequence in a stream cipher system. The error linear complexity is employed to measure the stability of the linear complexity, which means the minimal linear complexity by changing ...

Another Set of Sequences, Sub-Sequences, and Sequences of Sequences

open access: yes, 2000
In this paper 101 new integer sequences, sub-sequences, and sequences of sequences, together with related unsolved problems and conjectures, are presented. Also, definitions, examples, solved or open questions, and references for each sequence are given.

Real‐time assay of ribonucleotide reductase activity with a fluorescent RNA aptamer

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ribonucleotide reductases (RNR) synthesize DNA building blocks de novo, making them crucial in DNA replication and drug targeting. FLARE introduces the first single‐tube real‐time coupled RNR assay, which enables isothermal tracking of RNR activity at nanomolar enzyme levels and allows the reconstruction of allosteric regulatory patterns and rapid ...

What Human Planning Can Tell Us About Animal Planning: An Empirical Case

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2020
The ability to think about and plan for the future is a critical cognitive skill for our daily life. There is ongoing debate about whether other animals possess future thinking.

Genome sequence-based species delimitation with confidence intervals and improved distance functions

open access: yesBMC Bioinformatics, 2013
For the last 25 years species delimitation in prokaryotes (Archaea and Bacteria) was to a large extent based on DNA-DNA hybridization (DDH), a tedious lab procedure designed in the early 1970s that served its purpose astonishingly well in the absence of ...

Disordered but rhythmic—the role of intrinsic protein disorder in eukaryotic circadian timing

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Unstructured domains known as intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) are present in nearly every part of the eukaryotic core circadian oscillator. IDRs enable many diverse inter‐ and intramolecular interactions that support clock function. IDR conformations are highly tunable by post‐translational modifications and environmental conditions, which ...

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

The role of histone modifications in transcription regulation upon DNA damage

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This review discusses the critical role of histone modifications in regulating gene expression during the DNA damage response (DDR). By modulating chromatin structure and recruiting repair factors, these post‐translational modifications fine‐tune transcriptional programmes to maintain genomic stability.

Integration of circadian and hypoxia signaling via non‐canonical heterodimerization

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CLOCK, BMAL1, and HIFs are basic helix‐loop‐helix and Per‐Arnt‐Sim domain (bHLH‐PAS) proteins, which function as transcription factors. bHLH‐PAS proteins are designated in two classes. Many class I proteins are regulated by environmental signals via their PAS domains, but such signals have not been identified for all.

THE COMPARISON OF THREE TYPE OF EXERCISE SEQUENCE ON MAXIMUM STRENGTH IN UNTRAINED YOUNG MEN

open access: yesPhysical Education of Students, 2014
Aim: The purpose of this study is comparison of three type of exercise sequence on maximum strength in untrained young men after 8 weeks of resistance training. Methods : Prior to the training program, participants were randomly assigned to three groups.
