Microcomputer programs for DNA sequence analysis [PDF]

open access: yesNucleic Acids Research, 1982
Computer programs are described which allow (a) analysis of DNA sequences to be performed on a laboratory microcomputer or (b) transfer of DNA sequences between a laboratory microcomputer and another computer system, such as a DNA library. The sequence analysis programs are interactive, do not require prior experience with computers and in many other ...

Circulating histones as clinical biomarkers in critically ill conditions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Circulating histones are emerging as promising biomarkers in critical illness due to their diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic potential. Detection methods such as ELISA and mass spectrometry provide reliable approaches for quantifying histone levels in plasma samples.

Molecular characterization of Colletotrichum species causing Begonia anthracnose in Sri Lanka

open access: yesCeylon Journal of Science, 2020
Anthracnose disease is known to affect many tropical and subtropical fruits, vegetables and also certain cut-flowers and foliage plants. The disease was known to be caused by Colletotrichum gloeosporioides or C.

DeepSNVMiner: a sequence analysis tool to detect emergent, rare mutations in subsets of cell populations [PDF]

open access: yesPeerJ, 2016
Background. Massively parallel sequencing technology is being used to sequence highly diverse populations of DNA such as that derived from heterogeneous cell mixtures containing both wild-type and disease-related states.

Application of neural networks and other machine learning algorithms to DNA sequence analysis

open access: yes, 1988
In this article we report initial, quantitative results on application of simple neutral networks, and simple machine learning methods, to two problems in DNA sequence analysis.

Insights into pegRNA design from editing of the cardiomyopathy‐associated phospholamban R14del mutation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how prime editing guide RNA (pegRNA) secondary structure and reverse transcriptase template length affect prime editing efficiency in correcting the phospholamban R14del cardiomyopathy‐associated mutation. Insights support the design of structurally optimized enhanced pegRNAs for precise gene therapy.

Southern-by-Sequencing: A Robust Screening Approach for Molecular Characterization of Genetically Modified Crops

open access: yesThe Plant Genome, 2015
Molecular characterization of events is an integral part of the advancement process during genetically modified (GM) crop product development. Assessment of these events is traditionally accomplished by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and Southern blot ...

A computer package for DNA sequence analysis

open access: yesNucleic Acids Research, 1984
We have developed a comprehensive software-hardware package for a CP/M based or other microcomputer which can perform four major functions in a molecular biology laboratory: (1) the acquisition and analysis of DNA sequence data, (2) word processing in the preparation of scientific manuscripts and figures, (3) general lab computation and data reduction,

Intron‐oriented HTLV‐1 integration in an adult T‐cell leukemia/lymphoma cell line sustains expression of intact ift81 mRNA

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In the adult T‐cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATL) cell line ED, the human T‐cell leukemia virus type 1 (HTLV‐1) provirus was integrated into the intron of the ift81 gene in the antisense orientation. Despite this integration, both the intact ift81 and the viral oncogene hbz were simultaneously expressed, likely due to the functional insufficiency of viral ...

Comparative DNA sequence analysis of mouse and human protocadherin gene clusters.

open access: yesGenome Research, 2001
The genomic organization of the human protocadherin alpha, beta, and gamma gene clusters (designated Pcdh alpha [gene symbol PCDHA], Pcdh beta [PCDHB], and Pcdh gamma [PCDHG]) is remarkably similar to that of immunoglobulin and T-cell receptor genes. The
