Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1973Abstract A homogeneous preparation of P-component has been isolated from human splenic amyloid. Twenty-three residues of the amino-terminal sequence of this unique protein have been determined. The sequence is not that of an immunoglobulin and does not correspond to the sequence of any previously reported protein.

Optimal Separation Sequence for Three-Component Mixtures
The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2007In this paper, the problem of finding the optimal separation sequence for a three-component mixture in a cascade of two binary separation stages is considered. The minimal energy that is needed for a separation in a two-stage mechanical separation subject to a given flow rate of the input mixture is obtained.

A component-based implementation of multiple sequence alignment
Proceedings of the 2003 ACM symposium on Applied computing - SAC '03, 2003This paper addresses the efficient execution of a Multiple Sequence Alignment (MSA) method, in particular the progressive alignment-based CLUSTAL W algorithm, on a cluster of workstations. We describe a scalable component-based implementation of CLUSTAL W program targeting distributed memory machines and multiple query workloads.

IIE Transactions, 1993We formulate and solve a single-machine scheduling problem where each job requires a component unique to that job and one which is common to all jobs. We develop an optimal dynamic programming algorithm for this problem which minimizes total job flow time.

A Fast Method for Sequence Component Filtering
International Journal of Electrical Engineering & Education, 2003In this paper a method to filter or segregate sequence components, using minimal hardware is presented. The method does not involve phase shifts other than that of 90 degrees. Thus it can be implemented using very simple hardware or if implemented in software will need considerably less amount of processing.
