Analysis of High Temporal Resolution Land Use/Land Cover Trajectories

open access: yesLand, 2019
In this study, methods, originally developed to assess life course trajectories, are explored in order to evaluate land change through the analysis of sequences of land use/cover.

Constructing multiple unique input/output sequences using metaheuristic optimisation techniques [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Multiple unique input/output sequences (UIOs) are often used to generate robust and compact test sequences in finite state machine (FSM) based testing. However, computing UIOs is NP-hard.

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Using Mitochondrial DNA Similarity Percentages to Analyze the Maternal Source of Hybrid Bees from Two Honey Bee Subspecies

open access: yesScientific Papers Animal Science and Biotechnologies, 2023
Hybridization between honey bee subspecies is common and hybrid bees can completely or partial replace the endemic bee subspecies as happened in some countries including Egypt.

Hahn's generalized problem and corresponding Appell sequences [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This thesis is devoted to some aspects of the theory of orthogonal polynomials, paying a special attention to the classical ones (Hermite, Laguerre, Bessel and Jacobi).

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Seasonal Diversity of Endophytic Bacteria Associated with Cinnamomum camphora (L.) Presl.

open access: yesDiversity, 2019
Investigations on the density, diversity, and distribution of endophytic bacterial community associated with leaves of Cinnamomum camphora (L.) Presl. were carried out during three seasons using 16s rDNA high-throughput sequencing technology.

Phosphoinositides and inositol phosphates as molecular glues

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol phosphates (IPs) and phosphoinositides (PIPs) regulate diverse eukaryotic processes. Beyond recruiting signaling proteins or acting as structural cofactors, recent studies suggest they mediate protein–protein interactions as natural molecular glues.
