Inhibition of cyclin‐dependent kinases 12/13 using CT7439 as a treatment for colorectal cancer with CDK12 upregulation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The proposed mechanism of action for the CDK12/13 inhibitor and cyclin K degrader, CT7439. CDK12/13 inhibition interrupts transcription elongation, leading to increased DNA damage that results in cell death. This agent is a potentially novel treatment option for patients with colorectal cancer. Created in BioRender. Cyclin‐dependent kinase (CDK) 12 and

Understanding the roadside behaviour of children with DCD and/or ADHD: An exploratory sequential design study [PDF]

open access: yes
Background Navigating roads safely is a complex task, requiring a high level of perceptual-motor skills including selecting safe crossing sites, perceiving and responding to approaching vehicles, and selecting safe crossing gaps.

Evaluation of Harezmi Education Model Applications According to Student Opinions: An Exploratory Sequential Mixed Design Research

open access: yes
Harezmi Education Model (HEM), one of the applications based on an interdisciplinary approach, is an education model that allows students to develop 21st century skills such as algorithmic thinking, problem solving, and working in a team (MEB, 2021)

In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

From tumor‐centric to ecosystem‐based hypotheses in brain tumor research and care

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Primary brain tumors, whether in adults or children, present a major challenge because of their dramatic prognosis and the ongoing lack of efficient therapeutic approaches. In recent years, a shift has occurred from tumor‐centric concepts to a more holistic view of these tumors as dynamic ecosystems.

Designs efficiency for nonmarket valuation with choice modelling: how to measure it, what to report and why

open access: yes, 2007
We review the basic principles for the evaluation of design efficiency in discrete choice modelling with a focus on efficiency of WTP estimates from the multinomial logit model.

Preoperative circulating tumor cells integrated with imaging analysis for prognostic evaluation in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Detecting circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in blood before surgery may help predict outcomes in patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Here, we show when combined with tumor size and lymph node involvement from routine imaging, CTC status identifies high‐risk patients with poorer survival—offering a simple, minimally invasive tool ...

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Design and psychometric testing of a moral intelligence instrument for pre-hospital emergency medical services personnel: a sequential-exploratory mixed-method study

open access: yes
Background Moral intelligence is a significant and influential factor in the delivery of principled and high-quality care. This is because moral intelligence is the ability to recognize and be sensitive to moral issues, which contributes to the ...
