Finding maximal sequential patterns in text document collections and single documents [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper, two algorithms for discovering all the Maximal Sequential Patterns (MSP) in a document collection and in a single document are presented. The proposed algorithms follow the “pattern-growth strategy” where small frequent sequences are found

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Finding the needle in the haystack—An interpretable sequential pattern mining method for classification problems

open access: yesFrontiers in Big Data
IntroductionThe analysis of discrete sequential data, such as event logs and customer clickstreams, is often challenged by the vast number of possible sequential patterns.

Sequential and Synchronous Skin Pattern Formation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
Mathematical modelling has become a widely accepted method for examining how and why vertebrate skin structures are laid down in an orderly and organized fashion. Although various theoretical models have been proposed for examining the morphogenetic processes responsible for the large variety of patterns observed on animal skin, these processes are ...

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Discover Sequential Patterns in Incremental Database

open access: yes, 2013
The task of sequential pattern mining is to discover the complete set of sequential patterns in a given sequence database with minimum support threshold.

Using patterns co-occurrence matrix for cleaning closed sequential patterns for text mining

open access: yes, 2012
With the overwhelming increase in the amount of texts on the web, it is almost impossible for people to keep abreast of up-to-date information. Text mining is a process by which interesting information is derived from text through the discovery of ...

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Sequential Pattern Mining [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Sequential pattern mining deals with data represented as sequences (a sequence contains sorted sets of items). Compared to the association rule problem, a study of such data provides “inter-transaction” analysis (Agrawal & Srikant, 1995). Applications for sequential pattern extraction are numerous and the problem definition has been slightly ...

Feature Interaction Dual Self-attention network for sequential recommendation

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurorobotics
Combining item feature information helps extract comprehensive sequential patterns, thereby improving the accuracy of sequential recommendations. However, existing methods usually combine features of each item using a vanilla attention mechanism.
