Low-complexity channel estimation in massive MIMO based on Kaptyn series expansion

open access: yesDianxin kexue, 2016
In order to reduce the complexity of the massive MIMO channel estimation, a channel estimation method based on Kapteyn series expansion was proposed. By using Taylor series to expand the inversion, the complexity was greatly reduced.

Business Retention and Expansion (BRE) Programs: Characteristics of Successful BRE Programs

open access: yesEDIS, 2008
FE653, a 3-page fact sheet by Henry M. Cothran, is third in a series on establishing business retention and expansion (BRE) programs. It identifies and explores five of the most common characteristics of BRE programs recognized for their success ...

Valuing Guaranteed Minimum Death Benefits by Cosine Series Expansion

open access: yesMathematics, 2019
Recently, the valuation of variable annuity products has become a hot topic in actuarial science. In this paper, we use the Fourier cosine series expansion (COS) method to value the guaranteed minimum death benefit (GMDB) products.

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

Business Retention and Expansion (BRE) Programs: Responding to Business Concerns

open access: yesEDIS, 2008
FE656, a 3-page fact sheet by Henry M. Cothran, is ninth in a series on establishing Business Retention and Expansion (BRE) programs. It outlines a procedure for identifying and tracking issues identified during a business survey.

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

A convergent expansion of the Airy's integral with incomplete Gamma functions

open access: yes, 2020
There are two main power series for the Airy functions, namely the Maclaurin and the asymptotic expansions. The former converges for all finite values of the complex variable, $z$, but it requires a large number of terms for large values of $|z|$, and ...

Real closed fields with nonstandard and standard analytic structure

open access: yes, 2006
We consider the ordered field which is the completion of the Puiseux series field over \bR equipped with a ring of analytic functions on [-1,1]^n which contains the standard subanalytic functions as well as functions given by t-adically convergent power ...

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

Some interesting series arising from the power series expansion of (sin-1x)q

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2005
Starting from the power series expansions of (sin-1x)q, for 1≤p≤4, formulae are obtained for the sum of several infinite series. Some of these evaluations involve ζ(3).
