Thermodynamic properties of ferromagnetic mixed-spin chain systems
Using a combination of high-temperature series expansion, exact diagonalization and quantum Monte Carlo, we perform a complementary analysis of the thermodynamic properties of quasi-one-dimensional mixed-spin systems with alternating magnetic moments. In

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

In order to accelerate the spherical/spheroidal harmonic synthesis of any function, we developed a new recursive method to compute the sine/cosine series coefficient of the 4π fully- and Schmidt quasi-normalized associated Legendre functions.

Improved Massive MIMO RZF Precoding Algorithm Based on Truncated Kapteyn Series Expansion
In order to reduce the computational complexity of the inverse matrix in the regularized zero-forcing (RZF) precoding algorithm, this paper expands and approximates the inverse matrix based on the truncated Kapteyn series expansion and the corresponding ...

Liquid biopsy epigenetics: establishing a molecular profile based on cell‐free DNA
Cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) fragments in plasma from cancer patients carry epigenetic signatures reflecting their cells of origin. These epigenetic features include DNA methylation, nucleosome modifications, and variations in fragmentation. This review describes the biological properties of each feature and explores optimal strategies for harnessing cfDNA ...

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

In this paper, in view of a determinantal formula for higher order derivatives of the ratio of two differentiable functions, we expand the logarithm of the normalized tail of the power series expansion of the cosine function into a Maclaurin power series

Long Seasonal Cycle Modeling: the Case of Realized Volatility [PDF]
Time series with long seasonal periods are very common. Several methods have been proposed for modeling of long seasonal cycles, the most commonly used ones being those based on basis expansion. In this paper, we present and discuss these methods.
