Collisional series resistance in electron beams

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1974
The standard reference books on electron optics, Glaser (1952), Sturrock (1955) and Grivet (1972), do not consider the possibility that an electron beam can exhibit a series resistance, even at zero frequency. The letter demonstrates that a series-resistance term must exist. Numerical estimates of the series resistance are given, from which it is shown

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Gestures of Resistance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Gestures of Resistance aims to respond to our current general mood of political anxiety and alienation by opening up socio-political critique in order to resist the palpable feeling of disempowerment.

Extraction of series-resistance-independent MOS transistor model parameters

open access: yes, 1992
It is shown by simulations and experiments how series-resistance-independent intrinsic SPICE level-3 MOS parameters can be extracted when the source and drain series resistance is extracted as a separate parameter.

Production-Ready Decomposition of Series Resistance Into Lateral and Fixed Components

open access: yesSiliconPV Conference Proceedings
The series resistance (Rs) of a solar cell is commonly treated as a constant, but this is a very poor approximation: in modern cells, Rs can vary by a factor of 4 depending on illumination, bias voltage, and temperature.

Optimisation Method for Pre-set Arc Suppression Coil Damping Resistors Enhancing Ground Fault Detection [PDF]

open access: yesZhengzhou Daxue xuebao. Gongxue ban
As a key component of pre-set arc suppression coil, the damping resistor is currently configured primarily to suppress series resonance overvoltage and prevent protection maloperation during normal operation.

Bi2Te_xSe_y series studied by resistivity and thermopower

open access: yes, 2012
We study the detailed temperature and composition dependence of the resistivity, $ρ(T)$, and thermopower, $S(T)$, for a series of layered bismuth chalcogenides Bi$_2$Te$_{3-x}$Se$_x$, and report the stoichiometry dependence of the optical band gap. In the resistivity of the most compensated member, Bi$_2$Te$_{2.1}$Se$_{0.9}$, we find a low-temperature ...

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Beet Armyworm Resistance to Cry1Ac

open access: yes, 2001
Susceptibility of beet armyworm, Spodoptera exigua Hübner, to the Bt toxin, Cry1Ac, expressed in the first generation of transgenic cotton plants was evaluated using a laboratory strain and several foreign and United States field strains.

Blood‐based proteomic profiling reveals context‐dependent changes in BCL2‐associated signaling during taxane therapy in breast cancer patients

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chemotherapy side effects significantly impact cancer survivors' quality of life. Using protein levels in blood samples from breast cancer patients before and after 12 weeks of taxane treatment, we detected treatment‐dependent changes in calcium signaling and aging pathways associated with cancer recurrence.
