Series resistance compensation in translinear circuits

IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I: Fundamental Theory and Applications, 1998
The base resistance is often the primary limitation factor for the accuracy in translinear circuits. A general compensation technique for the extrinsic base resistance and the emitter series resistance is presented in this paper. The applications discussed include proportional-to-absolute-temperature (PTAT) temperature sensors and bandgap references.

The Vascular Resistance of Arterial Stenoses in Series

Angiology, 1990
The vascular resistance of stenoses in series has been studied in vitro by use of fiber optic laser Doppler anemometry to measure the cross-sectional areas of the stenoses. Pressure gradients across each of the stenoses were measured while both the severity and the separation of the stenoses were altered.

Resistant decomposition of economic time series

Empirica, 1991
The paper proposes two resistant methods for time series decomposition, i. e., methods that are insensitive to a few aberrant observations. One is based on running medians instead of the usual moving averages and is designed along the lines of SABL, a package developed shortly after Tukey's ideas were published.

Minimizing equivalent series resistance measurement errors

Microelectronics Reliability, 2002
Abstract The equivalent series resistance (ESR) of today's components continues to improve which makes the measurement of low ESR values a significant challenge. ESR measurement errors include the choice of measurement equipment/technique, traceability from national laboratories, and the interfacing and contacting to the device.

Measurement of series resistance in IMPATT diodes

IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, 1983
A new method is given for determining the electrical series resistance of an IMPATT diode. The measurement is based on observation of the oscillation threshold bias current for a diode in a standard circuit. The method is applied to GaAs diodes near 40 GHz.

Compressible Fluid Flow Through Resistances in Series

2020
Some theoretical determinations, and with greater generality, experimental research show that, in most cases of practical interest, the law of the flux for a compressible gas, being substantially assimilable to a perfect gas as a function of pressure drop between the extremes of a piping, including concentrated and distributed resistances, can be well ...
